Always check multiple sources

Do you doubt images you come across (online)?

  • Use different sources: consulting just one source is usually not enough to determine whether something is true. Look further.
  • Look for reliable sources: one source sometimes highlights only part of the story. Keep looking and compare information from different reliable sources to get a more complete picture.
  • Don’t stop at the first page of results: Click beyond the first (advert) pages on Google or other search engines.
  • Neutral? Or more commercial? Check who originally shared the information and ask yourself why they put that information online. Perhaps the creator’s main aim with this information is to persuade you or prompt you to buy something, rather than to inform you accurately?
